ALBANY, N.Y., Feb. 19, 2007
- IA Systems, a provider of lending software and services to credit unions,
banks and other financial institutions, announced that Racine, Wis.-based
Educators Credit Union successfully implemented Disaster Recovery, a low-cost
infrastructure that protects organizations from technical or natural disasters.
A three-year customer of IA Systems, $780 million Educators Credit Union
migrated to Disaster Recovery because it creates a recovery environment in the
event of any type of technical or natural disaster and is designed to work with
StreamLend Velocity, a Web-based, paperless loan origination system. The credit
union had already implemented IA Systems’ StreamLend Velocity on June 7, 2006
and processed more than 198 loans on the first day.
“IA Systems has provided our credit union with
superior lending services for several years and now with the addition of
disaster recovery services, we can protect our members from the repercussions of
unexpected events and maintain a competitive edge on lending,” said Paul Jalosky,
application administrator at Educators Credit Union. “We selected IA Systems
for its vision and drive to continually seek user feedback and develop
enhancements to meet the ever-changing market needs. Adding Disaster Recovery
best prepares us for any disaster while leaving enough bandwidth to focus on
what matters most: our members.”
Disaster Recovery is available through IA Systems’
application service provider (ASP) hosting facility and offers high availability
and security. The environment will be restored to operational state and
will remain current as of the point in time of the latest backup available for
restoration.
“Unforeseen events such as hurricanes, heat waves and
blizzards can affect financial institutions nationwide at any time, and the only
defense is to be prepared,” said Frank Townsend, manager of hosted operations at
IA Systems. “Our Disaster Recovery environment is created and maintained both
at the financial institution and in our hosting facility, so credit unions such
as Educators Credit Union stay fully protected. The good and bad news is, the
industry can learn a lot from the institutions that struggled through past
disasters, and we want to ease some of the stress that can be associated with a
disaster.”
