Deborah C.
Ryan
Chief Executive Officer
Deborah C. Ryan is
the CEO of IA Systems, Inc.—an Albany-based company which develops
technology for credit
unions, banks, and other financial institutions to automate their lending
operations and streamline business processes.
Since assuming
IA’s top leadership role in 2001, Ms. Ryan’s focus has been on driving sales
growth, establishing a client-centric organization, and developing innovative,
next-generation products. During her tenure, IA Systems has more than tripled
its revenue and doubled its client base. With Ms. Ryan’s leadership in
developing and launching a major new product—the next generation of IA’s
StreamLend® Loan Origination System, scheduled for general release in
Q1-06—IA Systems is poised for significant growth in 2006 and the years beyond.
In more than 20 years of senior management, Ms. Ryan has been active in the
fields of educational publishing, information technology, software development,
and online businesses. Her executive experience spans a wide array of functional
areas, including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Content Development,
Technical Support, Business Systems, Business Development, and Strategic
Alliances. In these roles, Ms. Ryan has had fiscal responsibility for business
units ranging in size from $7M to more than $60M; sales management
responsibility for revenue targets exceeding $600M; and acquisitions and
strategic investment programs totaling more than $150M. Prior to coming to IA
Systems, Ms. Ryan channeled this expertise to work with early-stage companies,
with an emphasis on applying enabling technologies to create new market
opportunities.
In addition to her
wide and varied work experience, Ms. Ryan is also very active in community
organizations. Currently she sits on numerous boards, including the
Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Economic Growth, the
United Way of Northeastern New York, the Excelsior College Advisory Group, and
the Community Foundation for the Capital Region. She also recently served as the
co-chair of the Tech Valley Business Council. She has been an active supporter
of and advisor to the Alliance of Technology and Women, particularly the Tech
Valley chapter, and in November 2005 the Business Review named her as the
“Small Business Person of the Year”
as part of its prestigious annual
Achievement Awards.
